Georgia’s wholesale and retail chain GG House continues to expand its presence in the domestic market, with plans to move beyond the capital, Tbilisi, into regional cities including Rustavi, Telavi and Gori – marking the next stage in the company’s development.

In this interview, Co-Founder and Director Gocha Pukhashvili shares insights into the company’s rapid rise, customer-centric philosophy and plans for further expansion.

Q. Let’s start from the beginning. How did GG House come to life?

A. GG House was founded in 2021 with limited resources but a great deal of determination. From day one, we believed that by offering the best prices and quality service, we could earn customers’ trust and build a loyal base. In reality, we achieved that much faster than we had initially planned.

Q. What does GG House represent today and who is your target customer?

A. Today, GG House is a market-leading company that fosters healthy competition. This competition contributes to lower prices, benefiting not only our customers but the market as a whole. Our offering is designed for a broad audience – essentially anyone looking for quality products at affordable prices.

Q. What differentiates GG House from competitors in the household chemicals and hygiene sector?

A. We stand out through a combination of high-quality products and accessible pricing. Customers can find reliable, well-known products in our stores without overpaying, which is a key advantage in this category.

Q. How large is your selection of products?

A. Currently, GG House offers more than 20,000 product items across various categories.

Q. Which product categories are in highest demand?

A. The strongest demand is for paper products, laundry detergents and dishwashing liquids.

Q. How do you select the brands and suppliers featured in your stores?

A. Our decisions are largely driven by customer demand. We carefully observe what our customers need and adjust our assortment accordingly.

Q. You position yourselves as a wholesale-price retailer. How do you maintain such competitive pricing?

A. We operate on low margins and high volume. In addition, we have our own import channels, which allows us to optimize costs and pass those savings on to customers.

Q. Who is your core customer – retail shoppers or small businesses?

A. It is a balanced mix. We serve a large number of retail customers, as well as many small business representatives. Both segments are equally important to us.

Q. Your growth has been very dynamic. What were the key drivers behind this success?

A. A clear goal and consistent, daily hard work. Staying focused and committed has been essential to our growth.

Q. What were the main challenges along the way?

A. Like any growing business, we faced several challenges. The biggest was maintaining the right balance between quality and low prices, which is particularly difficult in our sector. Establishing ourselves in a competitive market and earning customer trust was also a demanding process. However, these challenges ultimately strengthened us and helped shape GG House into a trusted brand.

Q. GG House recently received recognition at the Golden Brand awards. What does this mean for you?

A. This recognition reflects the tireless effort our entire team puts in every day. It is a meaningful acknowledgment of the hard work behind the brand.

Q. Are there plans to expand beyond Tbilisi?

A. Yes. We currently have several ongoing projects in Tbilisi and once those are completed, we plan to expand into other cities. Rustavi, Telavi and Gori are among our priority locations, along with several others.

Q. What are your plans for e-commerce?

A. We plan to further develop our delivery service first and then introduce online sales as the next step.

Q. What are the company’s future priorities?

A. Our main focus is expansion – both in terms of physical presence and product range growth.

Q. Finally, what would you say to customers who have not yet visited GG House?

A. We invite everyone to visit us and see for themselves. At GG House, customers will find a wide product range and genuinely low prices. Our goal is to be a reliable and consistently valuable partner for every customer.
