Today, as consumer expectations continue to evolve toward personalized and aesthetically integrated interiors, the company remains focused on creating furniture that goes beyond functionality to become part of a lifestyle experience. This year, Bekauri Art further strengthened its industry standing by winning the Golden Brand award in the category of “Innovative and Conceptual Furniture Production.”

On this occasion, we met with Mirian Bekauri, Director of Bekauri Art, to discuss the company’s journey, evolving design philosophy, current market trends and the vision behind creating innovative and conceptual furniture solutions.

Q. What does receiving the Golden Brand award in the category of “Innovative and Conceptual Furniture Production” mean to you?

A. The Golden Brand award is an important recognition for us, but at the same time, it is also a great responsibility. Especially in this category, because it directly reflects our vision. For us, furniture is not just a functional product — it is part of a space, part of its aesthetics and ultimately an expression of lifestyle. This recognition gives us additional motivation to further strengthen our direction and continue offering the market new and innovative solutions.

Q. “Innovative and conceptual production” is a broad term. How do you define it within your company?

A. For us, innovative and conceptual production means moving beyond standard approaches. It is not only about introducing new materials, but about the entire process — how we plan spaces, combine design with functionality and create individualized solutions for each client. Every project has its own idea and concept, which allows us to create not simply furniture, but a complete and harmonious environment.

Q. How did Bekauri Art begin and what motivated you to build the company?

A. Bekauri Art was founded in 2014 with the goal of creating high-quality furniture that meets European standards for the Georgian market. At the beginning, it was a small production company, but with a very clear vision and strong ambitions. Our main motivation was to create something different and introduce a new standard of quality to customers.

The journey was challenging and required constant development, learning and experience, but this process ultimately shaped us into the successful brand we are today.

Q. What materials and technologies distinguish your products in the market?

A. We use certified European materials that are environmentally friendly and safe for human health. At the same time, we actively integrate modern technological equipment into our production process, which ensures precision and high quality.

For us, it is important that every product is not only visually attractive, but also durable, functional and safe.

Q. How would you describe the current furniture market in Georgia? What trends have emerged in recent years?

A. The furniture market in Georgia has developed significantly in recent years. Consumers have become more informed and more demanding. There is a growing interest in minimalist design, natural materials and customized solutions.

Today, customers are no longer looking only for furniture — they are looking for style, atmosphere and individuality within their living spaces.

Q. What types of projects are currently in highest demand?

A. At this stage, modern-style kitchens, open-space interiors and custom-designed furniture are among the most requested projects. Demand has also increased significantly for complete interior solutions, where furniture becomes an integrated part of the overall design concept.

Q. How difficult is it to maintain uniqueness in a highly competitive market?

A. Competition exists in every industry, but for us, the most important thing is maintaining our own style and quality. We always try to stay one step ahead, focus on details and never compromise on quality. That is what allows us to preserve our uniqueness.

Q. How do you handle clients with highly specific or challenging requests?

A. We approach every project individually. At the initial stage, we try to fully understand the client’s needs and then we offer the most suitable concepts and solutions. In many cases, challenging requests actually give us the opportunity to create particularly interesting and unique projects.

Q. What advice would you give to young entrepreneurs entering this industry?

A. I would advise young entrepreneurs not to rush the process of achieving success and to pay maximum attention to quality. Continuous development, gaining new knowledge and finding your own style are essential.

Success comes when you create something distinctive rather than trying to copy others.
