Sara Davies‘ husband is loving the stamina she has since she competed on Strictly Come Dancing

The 37-year-old businesswoman and her pro dance partner Aljaz Skorjanec, 31, were eliminated from the BBC ballroom dance contest last month.

And the Dragon’s Den star has revealed how the vigour she has since undertaking the rigorous training for Strictly has worked wonders for her marriage.

Sara – who shares children Oliver, six, and Charlie, three, with husband and business partner Simon, 41 – told The Sun‘s Fabulous magazine in her first cover interview: ‘Simon is not a complimentary person. He’s the one who keeps my feet on the ground.

‘While everyone else is telling me how awesome I am, he won’t overdo it.’

The entrepreneur was hoping Aljaž would be her partner to avoid any gossip about the dreaded Strictly curse – the name used to describe romances between dancers and their celebrity partners – as his wife Janette Manrara used to be a pro as well.

Asked how her other half is finding his Sara’s newfound stamina, she replied: ‘Trust me, he’s loving life…

‘I said I would only want Aljaž as my partner – and the curse was one of the biggest reasons for that.

‘They never talk about the Strictly curse in relation to him and his partners, and maybe that’s because of Janette.’

Sara added that she felt the curse would never apply to her because of how much she loved Simon.

She explained how their relationship is build on ‘trust and fidelity’, and she was sure appearing on the show would not cause any problems for their marriage.

Meanwhile, Sara revealed her father Frank, who was a ballroom dancer, told her she was too ‘overweight’ and had ‘no musicality’ when she told him she dreamt of appearing on the show.

However, he got ‘choked up’ when his daughter impressed the judges and the viewing public.
